Miss Olivia Paige & Miss Claire Tester Outfit!!!

posted in: Babies & Kids, Sewing | 4

So I know Sam, the designer of The Handmade Dress, from a sewing forum I am on.  After the recent slew of Miss Madeline & Miss Mary dresses I made from her patterns I was lucky enough to be chosen as one of her pattern testers!  She is currently working on releasing 2 new patterns… Miss Olivia Paige is an adorable & classic wrap dress that can also be made as a tunic (I figured out you can wear it 2 different ways!) and them the Miss Claire which is a great double layered skirt that is very full.  I made up both the Miss Olivia Paige as a top & the Miss Claire.  I promise a full review after the final pattern is released.

Apparently thanks to the twins recent growth spurt I now need a minimum of 2-3 yard cuts of fabric, so when I got these patterns & wanted to try them I didn’t have any of my cheap fabric in big enough cuts so I ran to Walmart & got this!  The white is from the wall & was $3.44… the bright cheery butterfly print was from the discount fabrics & was only $2.44, and actually it is nicer quality them most of the $4.44 stuff they have!  I really like the simply clean white with the fun cheery print, it just screams the twins personality.  I used 2 yards of the white & 2/3 of a yard of the print.  I also used 3 yards of coordinating ribbon for each!  I think the grand total with the elastic was around $4.50 each for these outfits?

Enough talk, time for pictures!  I plan on getting better ones tomorrow when it is warmer & sunny out.  Carlie is in the top with the pink, & Baylie is the one with the blue.  Baylie’s top is reversed to show you it is cute either way! They are total hams 🙂

I’m testing them too, just haven’t blogged about them yet. I went with a lot of prints for the top (I did it as a dress) so mine looks so different. I love the simplicity of the white and the length of it as a top… and the ribbons are a beautiful touch. Your girls are adorable!

    Your fabric choices are gorgeous.
Another great job Kymy and Sam of course for the patterns.
