It’s Clean!

It’s not done by any means… I ‘moved in’ to my new sewing room in august but it has been slow going. We finally got all the wall to wall, floor to ceiling, shelving done. We still have a couple of shelves to put up over my Singer & next to the window. Besides that it’s just flooring (hoping for next month!), trim & the vinyl letters for the wall from my friend in AZ. Well it will be nice to get my door too! (waiting for the flooring before we put it in)

Anyways I have been using it the past few months with only part of the shelving up… then I got swamped with holiday orders & all heck broke loose.

I decided I had to get it cleaned up for stash game (sewing game on my favorite sewing forum)… & I managed to do it with a day to spare! All the gray tubs on the floor under the shelving & under the big desk are the rest of my random craft stuff & my office stuff that will fill up the bookcase at some point. For now I just want to focus on the fabric! I also have the rolling cutting table from JoAnns that is currently set up in the living room, but it folds down & slides most of the way into that space where the ironing board is when I’m not using it! I can also have it half set up & use it like an island in the middle of the room… it’s a bit of a squeeze, but it works!

I still have one more tub of fabric to fold & put on the shelving, I am hoping to sew lots of it up this month :).

Happy to see that you are doing just what I am this weekend..organizing the quilting room. We are iced in and it is a great time to be organizing fabric..what I love best.

I’ve been looking at this since you posted it & everytime I see it — I get more & more jealous! I really want my “own” sewing room. Right now I’m using our formal dining that has been baby gated from our 3 year old. I’m hoping my husband will get the basement room ready by the time the new baby gets here (due March 11th) so I can be all set up!

You TOTALLY win the who has more fabric contest! 🙂 My collection pales in comparison. I need to make time to sew, but when it’s just me I tend to do other things.

yeap, right before Christmas I finished my last order & literally shoved everything back into the room just so I didn’t have to deal with it! I didn’t care at the time, I just wanted to be done with it!

oh man I am so bookmarking this to show my husband and my parents! We are moving into their second house at the back of their current one and the two car garage is half converted into a bedroom ((it used to be mine when I was a mutinous teen)) and it’s soundproofed and has almost the same colour painted walls!

I want shelves to bad for all my fabric. It gets so messy when you have to just stack them up on a desk.
