Now for a little bit about Mel!!!

Hi! My name is Melissa Kapuszcak and I am the crazy mind behind Shezarealgem Designs. I am a 30 year old mommy and wife, born and raised in New York. I make funky and eclectic jewelry for the modern, hip gal! About 4 years ago I began making jewelry and finally starting selling online a year ago.

I have always had an eye for design and love to adorn just about anything that I can get my hands on. Jewelry has become my main focus and I love to design funky, one of a kind pieces. When I quit working full time to begin a family I needed something to keep me busy and designing jewelry had always been a dream of mine so I figured why not. I cannot believe the success I have had and how many pieces and custom designs that I have sold in the past few years, it is so validating and exciting.

Even before I had children I have always been creative and have always tried to make things myself instead of buying them commercially. I am entirely self-taught so my methods are constantly evolving and improving. Though I work 5 days a week in an office and am a mommy of a 2 and 4 year old as well as a wife to a super cool and creative guy…I have no idea how I find time to breathe yet alone create but I manage somehow! With that my creativity has really worn off on my kids, my 4 year old daughter is extremely creative and loves to make jewelry and design. My 2 year old son is very musical and already makes up his own songs. We are a pretty creative and kooky family!

After starting a family I learned that perfection doesn’t always equal beauty. After giving birth and breastfeeding two babies in 3 years my body underwent some drastic changes and I began to see that even though I was far from what society deemed “perfect” that I was still beautiful. My designs are often eclectic and asymmetrical in nature and I love to find the beauty in these “imperfect” design ideas.

I love to create custom designs. I would be honored to work with you to create your dream piece just contact me!

I have bought several pieces from Mel and have been blown away by the quality and care put into each piece. Everything is sturdy, mom friendly, everyday jewelry that will last for years! I can’t wait to see what she fills her shop with for the holiday season!

Kymy, I love your blog, you remind me of my mom when I was a little girl. Always sewing, always creating. What a beautiful legacy to leave to your own daughters some day, I hope they turn out to be as creative as you. I would love to see what you could do with childrens smocks, something to keep their good clothes clean when they are eating. Kids outgrow bibs but don’t outgrow the spills.

    XOXOXO
    -Missy

I’ve only recently found this blog but I’ve definitely been back! I love the free tutorials section. I made the legwarmers for my baby girl and have made some as gifts as well. See this link for pictures http://samk.vox.com/library/post/baby-leg-warmers.html My next two projects are the twill tape tags and a flannel sheet for my babies crib 🙂 You’re directions are clear and concise and your pictures are extremely helpful. Thanks for putting this blog out there!

I LOVE that you have a search function on your blog. I also like that all the groups (archives, categories, sponsors, etc) are neatly organized and dont run on. And lastly, I like the overall general design (the colors, layout, etc are all clean and nice to look at). Your background color of the site, also helps your pictures pop!

You blog is great!! Reading it I feel like I’m sitting talking with a friend, not staring at a computer screen. I love they sweet girly dresses you make for your daughters. I have a twin sister and it reminds me of picture of us in our fancy dresses that mom or grandma made us!!

I think it awesome that you are showcasing talented women! The market is so saturated, it’s hard making your stuff stand out! Your friends jewelry is amazing!! ( Love the orange stuff!! ) She is very talented!!!

Your Etsy Shop has lovely jewelry creations! I like how you discuss various topics on your site. You have my empathy at the loss of your Grandma. You also have tutorials and add a bit of your personal life. It is interesting to find out about the artist behind her work! Your “Jeep Girl Necklace” is right down my alley. I adore it! Our oldest son has a “Jeep Wrangler.” Please enter me in your delightful drawing. Many thanks, Cindi
