Well I am slowly trying to fit more sewing in to my day. Today I did one of my easy go-to instant gratification projects, a fitted pouch sling for my sister & my cute little niece Sami! Things were so crazy I forgot to take a pic of it when they tested it out, so for now a picture of it sitting on the floor will have to do! She picked out a yummy Alexander Henry fabric that I may have to buy some of. On the other side its a nice black with light swirl, so it is fully reversible too!

I actually bought a fitted sling when my son was born but after I got it I thought how easy they were to make!
Are there measurements you go by? (When I bought mine I had to measure from my shoulder to my hip to figure out what size to order.)

Hey, I just wanted to let you know that nearly 18% of my blog traffic comes from yours, – from your list of tutorials and patterns, I would assume. Granted, this is only over a 5-day period, as I only just started tracking that long ago, but I still found that delightful enough that I had to come on over here and tell you how awesome you are. lol.

I would “LOVE” to make one of these, did you use any sort of pattern? If not, do you have any tips? Thanks! Your blog is fantastic!

A friend showed me the basics of it shortly after I had my son. There are free tutorials on line, but I discovered that the sizing is really something that takes some getting used to… most of the tutorials I have found don’t match up with the size I actually need… in a pouch sling an inch can make a big difference! Did a quick google search & this tutorial seems to be a good one & has lots of pictures which is helpful with the french seam part! I can’t tell you if the sizing is quite right, because it’s been a long time since I measured myself, but it sounds about right! http://poplarporch.blogspot.com/2009/03/reversible-pouch-sling-tutorial.html
