As I am getting ready to go out for dinner I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Valentines Day! No matter how big or small the gift the most important thing is being able to spend time with those you love.
Yesterday I spent the day shopping with my aunt, friend, cousin & the kiddos. For the first time in YEARS I bought myself something nice to wear! I was giddy like a little kid in a candy shop when I walked into Nordstroms & was able to TRY ON BRAS!!! I have not done this since right after I graduated from high school. Take it they weren’t cheap, but the first time in 7 years I have a simple yet cute AND comfy fitting bra! After that we went to JcPenney & I got a cute pair of high healed slip on boots for only $10. There were a gorgeous pair of red pointy toed stiletto shoes at ROSS, but I just couldn’t pay $28 for a pair of shoes to wear one time… I can get an outfit for each kid at that price! I moved on & found a cute pair of dark size 5 jeans (yeah for eating better!) that are normally $60 for only $15 & they fit AWESOME. I really debated on these but my aunt Ampy told me to do something for me for once!!! Then I found a cute red top for $12 & a new black leather purse (I have never bought a new purse) for $17.
Back before I had kids I doubt I would have batted an eye about spending $54 on a new outfit let alone $76 on a new bra (when you have a small frame & big boobs you are lucky to find anything that fits for less then $55-$60 & most of that doesn’t look like something for a 24yr old!). I sorta bought it to look nice for B, but mostly I did it to make ME feel special in only a way I can. In the last month I have started wearing make-up again, and I forgot how good it makes me feel about my self!!
The kicker? In the last few weeks if I have been running quick errands without the kids & volunteering at the thriftshop when they are at their dads, people have been thinking I am a teenager again! It’s been a long time since anyone has said or thought that.
B even gave me my gift late last night since we were still up & he got me some yummy & soft goodies, a small photo tent for taking pictures of small items. I was over joyed by all of that, but then he put a little baggy in my hand & had gotten me a set of smaller diamond earrings to go in my 2nd holes in my ears!!! How can a girl not love diamonds no matter what their size!!!
Anyways I hope everyone else gets to feel special as well on this special day!
