It’s All About the Bust Mini Series!

All About the Bust #EYMM #DIY
We are all different shapes and sizes, but one thing that stands the same for all women when picking clothes, whether in store or sewing our own, is that it is important to know what size your bust is AND to have proper fitting undergarments. Did you know 80% of women are currently wearing the wrong size bra?  I am on one end of the spectrum, I have been ‘blessed’ with a tiny frame and very large bust, seriously. While my bust size can vary depending on weight and whether or not I am nursing I tend to be between a 30-34 band size and an H-K cup. Yes, you read that right, and until the last few years those sizes were simply unheard of in the US, unless you were plus size with a large band size as well.

Being a DD+ cup as a freshman at barely 5’3″, I quickly had to learn a lot about shopping and sizing. Over the years, this has not only helped my full-busted friends, but I have also helped ladies who have AA or A cups or uneven breasts that varied by more then 2 cup sizes. To get properly fitting tops, dresses, and jackets you need to start with the proper foundation. 😉

With the women’s Bundle Up Sale coming this Friday, as well as plenty of new tailored patterns set to release this summer, I have been finding myself giving a lot advice and doing a lot of consulting for designers and consumers alike.  So this week I will be doing another mini series. This one is ‘All About the Bust.’  It is a 6 part series that will cover…

Measuring the Bust, Bra Sizing & Fit

Whether or not to do a Small or Full Bust Adjustment (SBA & FBA)

SBA & FBA for Princess Seam Garments

SBA & FBA for Traditional Side Dart Garments

SBA & FBA for Strapless & Halter Bodices

FBA for Knits

So check back soon and follow along!  No matter what size you are, this series will be extremely helpful.
