Looking for pattern testers…

posted in: Sewing | 22

So this summer I blogged about my preemie NICU smocks and promised a free tutorial or pattern… well life got a little hectic after that!  So I have finely gotten all the text typed up & the pattern pieces scanned… I just can’t find the pictures I had taken of the process so I need to make a few up & take quick pictures!  Anyways since I have pattern pieces I am putting everything in the file so it will end up being a .pdf file that can easily be printed off.

But I would LOVE to send out the Word file (.doc) to a few testers to sew up a few this week & maybe send me pictures?  Though flannel works best any soft 100% cotton can be used.  If you are interested in testing it please leave me a comment & let me know what you would like to test… the single layer I have pictured with a serged or bias tape edge, or a 2 layer serged, bias tape, or turned & top stitched edge.

I would LOVE to get this ready & posted on the site ASAP.  This pattern is free for personal & charity sewing only thank you.

I am willing to test if you need more. I would like to try either one, which ever you need me to. If you have many for one and not the other, throw the “slow” one my way.

I’d be willing to test, probably prefer a t&t as I don’t quite have the hang of my serger yet.

I would love to test this! I would love to do something charitable with my sewing machine rather than just make gifts for all my girlfriends who are pregnant. Just send me the pdf file and I’ll do it!

I’d love to be a tester for you. A friend has a baby in the nicu at the moment, and he’s expected to stay for the next half year. I’ve been wanting to make something for them other than blankies.

    Thanks!!!

It’s late in the game, but if you’re still looking for testers, or if you’re planning on making the pattern public, I’d love to try it! I’m part of a new mamas group (although our babes are almost a year old – wow, not so “new” anymore) that likes to do charitable craft projects. This is a great idea for our next one!

I’m not sure if you’re still accepting pattern testers but I would loooove to! I had a preemie of my own who is now a healthy 6 month old but my cousin just had a 31weeker.. I know they have a long road ahead of them in the NICU and know how great a help these would be. Thank you for your time. My fingers are crossed!

Hey Kymy any chance I could grab a copy of this pattern please?
I’d like to make some to donate to my local hospital.
When we lost our baby boy at 19 weeks, the hospital was just fantastic and I’d like to give something back to them.
    Cheers

Hi~ I am a momma who lost her baby while in labor He was 40 weeks, while in labor my amniotic fluid burst and went into my blood stream, I almost dies and he did not make it. Along with it all I lost my uterus and can not bear children anymore. I have since been asked by my hospital to sew for them. They want 6-9 inch diapers and nicu gowns I also thought of sewing a few infant burial blankets to see if they like them. It is a healing ministry for my heart and remembrence of my son. If I missed the testing please let me know when your pattern is up. Thank you for sharing~
    Blessings~

Hello I already do some charity sewing for a NICU unit near me so I would love to do this smock you’ve designs also but I would like to ask you to send me the word document please on how you put it together…I saw the earlier posts so I’m thinking you have already had enough testers? Did they use a cotton flannel or a cotton knit and how did they finish the edges as your pattern doesn’t state if you wanted two of each piece cut out…thanks a lot, Pat , virginia beach,Va

I would like to test for you. We have a new born granddaughter who is 5 lbs. she is wearing preemie cloths. I have found preemie patterns for her I want to make extra tee-shirts for the hospitals, we live in an area that has one hospital that delivers baby’s and live close to the U/M Hospital and Toledo Hospital. I would like to take the shirts too.
If I could test for you I would take them to these Hospitals.
    Thank you for your time.
